Decimal degrees ↔ DMS converter
Convert latitude and longitude in either direction between decimal degrees and degrees, minutes and seconds, with signed/E-W and 0–360° longitude conventions.
Coordinate input
Converted coordinates
————————Latitude uses N/S. Longitude can use signed/E-W or east-positive 0–360°. Both equivalent longitude forms are displayed.
Validation rules
Minutes and seconds must be less than 60. At 90° latitude, 180° signed longitude or 360° east-positive longitude, minutes and seconds must be zero.
Example: −1.2644600000° = 1° 15′ 52.0560″ W = 358° 44′ 07.9440″ in the 0–360° convention.
Batch processing
Process a CSV or XLSX file locally
The first worksheet is used. Choose the batch conversion direction before processing.
Preview
For signed DMS longitude, include E/W. For 0–360° DMS longitude, no hemisphere is required. The preview shows up to 12 rows.
Two-way conversion
Convert between decimal degrees and DMS using either signed/E-W longitude or the east-positive 0–360° convention.
Correct rounding
Seconds are rounded to the selected precision and carried correctly into minutes and degrees when necessary.
No datum dependency
This is an angular-format conversion only. It does not change the datum, reference frame, ellipsoid or physical location.
